|my birthday, it's been a damn good day
I wake up to see the downstairs decorated with streamers and signs of happy birthday. There's an alarmingly unmanly pink gift bag sitting on the table. Inside is a heavy case containing a mother freakin' gun, a Colt 22 caliber gun. Tara makes me smile.
Then I meet a bunch of my classmates for lunch who sang me happy birthday and made me blush, which was my neighbor/classmate Tara's doing.
Then had a delicious sushi dinner with 7 of my close friends.
And the end of the night had amazing wife time. I gotta say, it has been a damn good day.

Playing hide and go seek in the dark with dim glowsticks is incredibly fun! Last night, I thought I found the best hiding spot that required a bit of climbing but Drew immediately found me. We were playing Sardines where one person hides where everyone else seeks and when you find the hider you hide with them. So when Drew found me, he gave his short grunt of laughter as acknowledgment and tried to climb up next to me. If it wasn't for our snickering, Michael and Tracy wouldn't have found us.
Oh, I've also been playing galactic galactic, the best eight hour game that requires painful strategic thought throughout. I can happily stare at the game board for hours, entertaining future moves and counters.
About a month ago, I practiced aerial swing moves with the roomies. I can do the side car straddle easy now. I also learned how to "Koala". In order to Koala someone, you have to latch onto them like you're climbing a tree and maneuver around. It's actually really cute to watch if you don't mind how gay it looks to see a grown man hugging another grown man with all four limbs.
Yesterday, I was pretty sick. I was laying on the couch pretty miserably trying my best to keep my mind off the sinus pressure when Tracy brought me an extra blanket. She also pushed her sinus relief meds making sure I took them.
I weird my coworkers when they find out how I'm hoping to have room mates after I'm married. They just don't understand a concept so foreign them. I can't imagine having it any other way.

|Poo you homework!
Should have stayed home to work on things but ended up out. Original plan was to pool at Buster's only it was closed so we went to Lynaugh's where we ended up playing "Slap I win". I swear, cool stuff only happens when the chicks encourage it, since everyone there who never played before didn't really want to play until they saw how excited Erin was about it.
I have welts on the left side of my face from the unmerciful slapping of Erin and Drew, though Whitney should get an honorable mention since it was her first time she slapped anyone hard. Thankfully, I was given a very nice ear to mouth resuscitation along with two girls smooshing their chests on each side of my face. So yeah, I'm totally going to get bwned for this presentation on Thursday but it was well worth it.

|The weapons of Jasian
Drew gave me a wooden samurai sword when he returned from his Japan trip. I'm torn between these names: Bukkake Taki (Chris's idea, taki = waterfall) and Unlabored Flawlessness (from Ninja Gaiden). This is actually the first weapon I have without a sister.
I have a retractable baton named Lickity while Chris has one named Split.
A katana in my trunk named Scratch whose sister is with Joe named Dent (Joe and I bought these at a huge discount on a "scratch and dent" table).
I have another wooden samurai sword named Masamune while Drew has one named Murasame. Some Japanese folk lore - Masamune is the "good" sword known to be able to heal and Murasame is the evil sword that causes extra blood loss. And we both dig Final Fantasy.
If I were to ever have a desert eagle, I'd name it "B-one-four".

Since there's no frisbee until the end of the month and I'm too lazy to do the push-ups and sit-ups I told myself to do, I've thought of adhering to a regular weekend dancing routine to get back in shape... for dancing all night at Dragon con. And you guys should encourage this motivation by going with me.
1) Dame after 1 am on Saturday
2) The Bar on Saturdays
3) And CRAP, I just read that the goth club in Louisville is closed... but the Cincy club should still be up.
Any other haunts?

|Got the job in Atlanta!
Woo hooo!!! I'll probably be starting there the 2nd week of Sept, maybe later. On the phone, my dad gave his loud and very enthusiastic congratulations while my mom called to ear-piercingly scream her congratulations. I love my parents.
So Chris is a great friend in that he's moving with me to Atlanta to protect me from loneliness. Anyone else interested in moving with us?
And now my computer yet again finds its way in the same residence as Jesse's computer. I'm very happy to be moving in Colfax or as Angela put it - "Never Never Land". And I learned just recently that I'll actually have my own room in 9 days! Things are looking very great now.

|Drew's email to me
Drew wrote to me: "What the hell's in SF? What the hell is SF? San Francisco? Super Friends? Super Friends' Spectacular Fortress of Severe Fellows Seeking Females for Stunning Fellatio?"
Ah Drew, you always could make a girl, I mean, me laugh. I can do just fine without my brobro for a month but can I survive without seeing Tara everyday? She and I have been living together for 6.5 years now, but thankfully when she moves out Drew comes back from Japan. It's like I'm going through a step by step process for me to get use to the feeling of moving away.

|SF was hecka awesome
Has anyone heard of Ghost ride the whip
? It's one of many bay area terms and it's one of many things I'd love to do especially the way how my cousin shows the whipping motion to the dancing complete with ridiculous head wobbling.
Tara's post is a very nice summary of what happened over the weekend. Here's my input:
I got teary talking with my older uncle about family. He's pretty traditional Chinese but as he was drunkenly crying out of happiness he told me how he looks forward to seeing how beautiful my children will be with a white girl like Tara (yes, he said white girl). It was such a relief to hear him say that.
My father and his two brothers are a funny trio. Their mannerisms, gestures, laughter, and the way they talk are amazingly similar. My father is the middle brother and the younger brother acts just like my dad only with more energy and exaggerated mannerisms while the older brother acts just like my dad only a bit more laid back and slower.
A perfect example of this is how they each get my attention (no joke):
The older uncle, "Jason!"
My dad, "JasonJason!"
My younger uncle,"JasonJasonJason!"
The younger uncle gets in three rapid Jason's at the same time my older uncle finishes his one Jason.
There were times when the three families ate together the three brothers would be shouting to each other across the table in bounding laughter and mimicking each others gesticulations while the rest of us would watch in quiet awe of the uncanny resemblance. You'd think we'd get use to it over the years.
Want to learn a bit of Chinese culture and feel like you are the slightest bit "cultured"? Well, we were celebrating my father's 59th bday which is traditionally suppose to be a big huge hoopla while next year his 60th bday will pass without much celebration. The reason is the number 9 rhymes with long in Chinese so making a big deal of this bday will superstitiously make his life longer. Many Chinese superstitions deal with homonyms or words that rhyme. Another example would be that the number 4 is considered unlucky because its homonym is "death".

List seven songs you are into right now, no matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your LiveJournal along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to.
1. The Noose - A Perfect Circle
2. Cupid - Sam Cooke
3. A Teenager in Love - Dion and the Belmonts
4. Joga - Bjork
5. Love me Right - Angel City
6. Dare - Gorillaz
7. Hungry Like the Wolf - Duran Duran (due to Bruce Campbell)
Thanks fellas for giving me ideas of what to download!

|And a very happy birthday to you Tracy
Tracy is soon to reach the monumental age of 24. That's one year away from obtaining the car rental ability feat along with a discount on insurance. To celebrate, we were thinking of going out to bars and such Saturday night. Then we'll uphold the annual tradition of playing at Elizabeth Street park on Sunday afternoon. I'm talking about kickball, foursquare, and cart wheels.

So it's been a good holiday season. Went to NC for Tara's family - felt loved, you know that good big welcoming family feeling. I played walking ultimate frisbee with the cousins every day, canoed and kayaked, and watched over Tara's sisters.
Tara's sisters are adorable. My time with them removed some doubt I had about having kids in five years. Tasha, the 4 year old, gave me that heavy warm feeling when she gave me an eskimo kiss out of no where. I pulled back a bit as she was leaning in since I wasn't sure if she was going to cough on me or something, but then she carefully smothered her nose onto mine. All I could see were her big green eyes smiling from her giggling.
And Katlin, the 2 year old, can say my name now, well, most of my name at least, she can't get the 2nd syllable but a cheerful "Jace!" with a big smile on her face will do just fine.
I got pulled over on the way back. I was going 84 on a 65 and after giving the cop my license and waiting for 5 minutes he came back, pointed at the organ donor sticker, and said, "This is the only reason why you're not getting a ticket." So I encourage you all, even if you're not into that whole saving another person's life thing, get that shit signed for the off chance that this could happen to you.
And then tonight was New Year's Eve. Welcoming the new year with the same friends for 6-7 years now. Man, these last few parties get so makeouty it's so grand.
